Of course it was only natural we ask a few questions!

*When did you decide you’d be a hair stylist?
“It all started in my senior year in HighSchool 1995-96 (Huguenot High School). I charged $15 for my flat twist & ponytail styles and I was known as the “flat twist queen” ! I would drive my mother crazy styling hair in her kitchen and have 3-4 girls waiting in her living room to be next in my chair.”

*Tell us one thing you would change about the hair industry? “I would like the Industry to expand more here in RVA. I would like Richmond to have more opportunities for hairstylist like the bigger cities: Atlanta, L.A & NYC. There are a lot of talented stylist here that could really be recognized & showcased if more opportunities were presented here in Richmond. Most of my professional experiences and training I’ve had to travel to those popular cities to gain experience and to participate in major gigs.”

*What’s one product you swear by when styling hair? “I swear by Design Essentials “edge control” I’ve tried a million & 1 other edge tamers but nothing seems to hold like Design. This product is a MUST have on 99% of my clients to top off their finished look.

*Favorite hairstyle in the 90s? Flat twist, Glued-in long straight tracks & Bohemian Curl sew-ins!
